Quick Update from the 4 Emery's!

It has been two months since my last post and well, things with a newborn and a toddler keep me pretty busy so some things I just never seem to have time to get to and this blog was one of them.  But while Riley is "napping" (I use quotes because she doesn't nap but just sit in her bed reading and singing most days) and while Harper is content, I have a few minutes for a quick blog update.

Harper has been amazing.  I can't believe I got so lucky as to have two really good babies!  Riley was a great newborn and baby and so far Harper has been amazing!  She doesn't sleep as good as Riley did at three months but she's not too shabby at sleeping at least 6 hours at night.  I will take it!  Bringing her home was such a joy after 10 days in the ICU but also scary since I seem to have had amnesia and forgot everything from the Riley times.  Sleep was at a premium early on and time was also had a premium!  There were days where things were so busy I would forget to eat!  And with the little breaks I had it was a decision to either sleep, eat or shower!  But now that its been almost three months I finally have the routine down and do shower, eat and sleep everyday. :)
I'm a bit tired here.

The last week in March I flew down to Florida to see my parents and brought Harper along with me.  She was an excellent travel partner.  She slept the whole time on the plane and only woke up to eat at the Atlanta airport.  It was great to see my parents and Aunt Karen and then also see my newly engaged bestie, Tiffany, for some wedding event planning!  We got to catch up over some great food at our favorite sushi place in Destin, Sakura's.  I was so nervous about flying solo with Harper but all anxiety went away since she was incredible on both legs of the trip!
Very happy grandparents.

On the plane flying home.

I start work in two weeks and I can't believe how fast my maternity leave went by!  In two weeks I actually start a new job at NAVFAC as the Supervisory FECA Program Manager (Injury Compensation).  I will manage the entire program for the command enterprise wide and also supervise some folks so coming from maternity leave this will be quite a transition!  Well, Riley is up and so is Harper so now I must say goodbye!!  Next post will be from Riley's birthday party.  I can't believe she is turning 3!!!

Started smiling.

A little tummy time.
